![]() ![]() Sometime later, Psi Corps received word of a covert operation smuggling telepaths into Earth's outer colonies, where it would be harder for MetaPol to find them. Unknown to anyone besides Bester's inner circle, it was actually Bester who staged the assassination, spending years planting telepathic triggers in Johnston's aides. Officially the bombing was blamed on the Telepath Resistance, playing out exactly as he claimed. The damaged modular section quickly flooded and Bester had only just been able to escape before it auto-detached to save the rest of the complex, though the Director was not as lucky. Claiming that one of Johnston's guards turned on the Director during a late night meeting with the Psi Cop, Bester shot the guard in the leg before he set off a bomb. Awoken by an explosion that rocked the facility, Byron found a wounded Bester near a flooded section of the base where the Director had been staying. Morden from Earthforce New Technologies Division, the members of Black Omega bunked down for the night. Escorting Bester back to the Black Omega transport, Byron and Ysidra then headed to Ganymede, docking at the secret Icehouse facility much to the surprise of base staff. The ship exploded, damaging Bester's Starfury. After a sensor scan showed that the ship was empty, Bester realized it was a trap set by Director Johnston and his cronies. On November 18, Byron accompanied Bester and Tapia in pursuit of a transport supposedly carrying rogue telepaths which they tracked and captured near Jupiter. Though Bester considered him somewhat young and naive, he still intended Byron to become one of his inner circle like Donne and Ysidra Tapia. ![]() ![]() In 2256, Byron was assigned to Black Omega Squadron under the command of Alfred Bester. Having tested as a strong P12, he was trained through the Corps' Minor and Major Academies before fully graduating as a MetaPol Psi Cop. This is not a weekend build or print, it is a seriously big model kit, and intended for those who really enjoy building big ass model space ships, and are prepared to put in the time and effort on it. Please read the linked Readme document below, as it details various assembly notes and errata, provides a full list of extras required to build it (such as screws, styrene/brass rod, etc), and gives a full list of parts, their quantities required, weights, and print times. There is also plenty of space to fit a motor/servo/stepper to make the rotating section spin. The ship has LOADS of space inside for wiring for LEDs, though its not a very brightly lit ship, what lights it does have can be easily installed. No part exceeds 200mm on the print bed, so that is the largest size print bed required. The ship was designed to be printed completely on an FDM printer, but there are a few parts such as the guns, and some detail panels that would benefit from being printed on a DLP resin printer. I broke the ship down into parts to get the best results from 3d printing for each part, and there are almost no supports needed. It mostly screws together for ease of assembly, with smaller detail parts glued on. The ship weighs about 3.4kg, and is made up of 356 parts, and on my Printers, took a total of 280 hours of printing. (thats about 40" for the metrically challenged). Here it is, my biggest model, the gigantic, kick-ass, 1 meter long Omega Class Destroyer from Babylon 5.
